Terms of sale

Last updated: 7 October 2026

These terms govern every order placed on bison-coffee.com, whether by a consumer or by a professional holding a trade account. Placing an order means you accept them.

1. Seller

Bison Coffee EURL, 563 Rue de la Prairie, 73350 Bozel, France, RCS 109 440 404 (SIRET 109 440 404 00019), VAT FR86 109 440 404. Email: info@bison-coffee.com.

2. Products

We sell freshly roasted speciality coffee (whole bean, in 225 g and 1 kg bags) and related merchandise. Products are described as accurately as possible; photographs are not contractual. Roasted coffee is a food product with a best-before date printed on the bag.

Offers are valid while stocks last. Limited editions may sell out without notice.

3. Prices

Prices are shown in euros. For consumers they include French VAT (5.5% on coffee, 20% on merchandise). For approved trade accounts prices are shown excluding VAT, with VAT itemised on the invoice. Prices may change at any time, but the price charged is the one shown when you confirm your order.

Collection from a stockist is free. Any delivery cost is shown before you confirm.

4. Ordering

You choose your products, your collection point or delivery option, enter your details and confirm. The order is firm once payment is accepted. You receive a confirmation email listing the order. We may refuse an order in case of an existing dispute, suspected fraud, or an obvious pricing error.

5. Payment

Consumer orders are paid by card at the time of ordering, through Stripe. Your card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Approved trade accounts are invoiced. Payment is due on the date shown on the invoice. Under articles L441-10 and D441-5 of the French Commercial Code, late payment by a professional incurs interest at three times the legal rate and a fixed recovery indemnity of €40.

6. Collection and delivery

Consumer orders are collected from the stockist chosen at checkout. Orders confirmed before 12:00 on Thursday are available from the following Friday, during the stockist's opening hours. Please check their hours before ordering. Orders not collected within 30 days may be cancelled and refunded, less any product that has passed its best-before date.

Trade orders are roasted on Monday (order before 07:00 for a same-week roast) and delivered to your business on the following Friday. Details are on the Delivery page.

7. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you may withdraw from your order without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving or collecting it, under articles L221-18 and following of the French Consumer Code. Opened food products cannot be returned for hygiene reasons (article L221-28, 5°). How to exercise this right and the model form are on our Returns page.

8. Legal guarantees

Consumers benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L217-3 and following of the Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 and following of the Civil Code). If a product is defective or not as described, contact us within the time limits set by law and we will replace or refund it.

9. Liability

We are not liable for a failure caused by force majeure, by you, or by a third party outside our control, including stockist opening hours. Our liability to professionals is limited to the amount of the order concerned.

10. Personal data

Data collected at checkout is processed to fulfil your order, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disputes and mediation

These terms are governed by French law. If a problem arises, write to us first at info@bison-coffee.com. If we cannot resolve it, a consumer may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator we are registered with: [mediator name, address and website — registration with a médiateur de la consommation is mandatory], or use the European online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Disputes with professionals fall under the courts of Chambéry.
